 I do not know where you are reading this but in both Paris and London one cannot really say summer has arrived. Days as well as evenings are chilly.

2008 Red dot design award winner: The mobile outdoor fireplace

A quick post to congratulate  Conmoto for their award winning design of Travelmate,a mobile fireplace and a cool addition to my selection of outdoor fireplaces  !

A good looking patio heater, at last ! AND it is remote controlled

Ahhhhh. I have wanted a source of heat for outdoors but patio heaters with  their bulky looks are a total turn off to me.
So share my joy today having discovered this quite attractive slim one. And it has a remote control function! Made my day  !

The rise and rise of the outdoor fireplace

I am re-editing this post because I saw that this week's Evening Standard had chosen Azria's work for a front page...And that reminded me how much I like her work!LINK here

I have just come back from meeting elite garden designer - Charlotte Rowe. She has kindly helped me find the excellent Cathy Azria. This artist/sculptor is re-inventing the bonfire for the urban garden. Built to special commission, her fires form the heart of an 'outdoor room'. Running on mains gas, they can be designed into a chimney or built into fireproof/frost proof vessels.LINK here
